Product Code: SP 1514 – Manyas

Recommended Firing Range

1200–1250°C

Form

Supplied as a liquid glaze in 175 g, 500 g, and 1000 g packages.

Application Properties

  • When fired at 1200°C, the glaze develops deep blue tones with small cream and brown speckles, creating a matte finish. In thinner applications, the dynamic surface movement is reduced. As the application thickness increases, the speckles and color transitions become more pronounced, resulting in a richer and more saturated appearance.
  • When fired at 1250°C, the surface texture becomes softer, and the glaze develops a glossier finish.
  • The glaze has a matte surface. A slight gloss may begin to appear at temperatures above 1220°C.
  • This glaze is opaque.
  • It has no tendency to run within the recommended firing range.
  • Acid-resistant.
  • Free from toxic substances.

Application Methods

  • Suitable for brush application. The recommended application thickness is 2–3 coats.
  • For spray gun or dipping applications, it is recommended to add approximately 5–30% water to adjust the viscosity.
  • Recommended Baumé (°Bé) range: 45–55.

Testing Recommendations

  • We recommend that customers using our glazes for the first time prepare test tiles using their own kiln schedules and application methods to evaluate the results. Preparing both vertical and horizontal test tiles according to your application technique will help you better understand the glaze’s characteristics.
  • The product shown in the image was applied over BNC 1200 White Porcelain Clay.
  • When combining artistic glazes with other artistic glazes or different glaze series, we recommend conducting tests beforehand to avoid possible defects.

Care and Cleaning

  • When washed in a dishwasher, the glaze surface may be exposed to high-temperature chemical detergents. As a result, slight matting or changes in the artistic surface characteristics may occur over time.

Safety

  • The use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is recommended during application.
  • As glazes react to heat, keep them away from fire and open flames during use.
  • Children should use the product under adult supervision.

Storage

  • Store the product in a tightly sealed container, protected from direct sunlight.
  • If stored for an extended period, the glaze may begin to dry out. If this occurs, add a small amount of water, mix thoroughly, strain, and then use.
  • After opening the container, the application enhancers, stabilizers, and preservatives contained in the glaze may gradually lose their effectiveness over time. Although this generally does not affect the fired result, it may reduce application performance, making the glaze more difficult to apply or causing pre-firing surface cracking. If you encounter such issues, please contact us for technical support and recommended solutions.
  • All ready to use glazes are available in 118 ml, 335 ml and 670 ml jars.
  • Our glazes are formulated ready to use in liquid forms.
  • It is recommended to apply by brush two to three even coats.
  • For other application methods you can add 5 %- 10 % water for diluting.
  • Before application, the glaze should be homogeneous.
  • We suggest you to test glazes on tiles and later on make final applications.
