Product Code: SP 1335 – Bitter Chocolate
Recommended Firing Range: 1200–1250°C
Form: Available as a liquid glaze in 175 g, 500 g, and 1000 g packaging.
Application Properties
- This striking artistic glaze stands out with its characteristic metallic-looking surface. Glitter-like metallic reflections spread across deep dark brown tones, adding depth and a luminous appearance to the surface. The application thickness directly affects the surface character of the glaze. Thin applications produce more uniform and smooth dark brown tones, while thicker applications enhance the metallic reflections, creating bright and shimmering effects. With its dynamic appearance under light, dark background, and metallic reflections, this glaze creates a bold, decorative, and eye-catching artistic effect.
- The glaze has a glossy surface.
- This glaze has opaque properties.
- The glaze has flowing characteristics. As the application thickness increases and the firing temperature rises, its tendency to flow also increases.
- It is acid-resistant and does not contain toxic substances.
Application Methods
- Suitable for brush application; the recommended application thickness is 1 to 3 coats.
- For spray gun or dipping applications, adding approximately 5–30% water is recommended to adjust the consistency.
- The recommended Baumé range is 45–55.
Testing Recommendations
- For customers using our glazes for the first time, we recommend preparing test tiles to observe the results under their own firing schedules and application methods. Preparing test tiles on both vertical and horizontal surfaces according to your application technique will help you better understand the characteristics of the glaze.
- The product shown in the image was applied on BNC 1200 white porcelain clay.
- When combining artistic glazes with other artistic glazes or other glaze groups, we recommend conducting tests beforehand to avoid potential issues.
Care and Cleaning
- When washed in a dishwasher, the glaze surface may be exposed to high-temperature chemical solutions. As a result, matting or variations in its artistic characteristics may occur.
Safety
- The use of personal protective equipment during application is recommended.
- Since glazes may react to heat, it is recommended to keep them away from fire and open flame sources during application.
- Children should use the product under adult supervision.
Storage
- Store the products in airtight conditions and protect them from direct sunlight.
- Products may begin to dry out if stored for a very long time. In this case, add a small amount of water, mix thoroughly, strain, and then use.
- After the packaging is opened, the application aids, stabilizers, and antibacterial agents contained in the glazes may gradually lose their effectiveness over time. This generally does not affect the firing result of the glaze, but it may affect its application performance. Application may become more difficult, or cracks may appear on the surface before firing. If you encounter such a situation, please contact us for recommended solutions.

- All ready to use glazes are available in 118 ml, 335 ml and 670 ml jars.

- It is recommended to apply by brush two to three even coats.
- For other application methods you can add 5 %- 10 % water for diluting.
