Product Code: S 1027 / Crackle Turquoise
Recommended Firing Temperature Range: 1020–1050 °C
Form: Supplied in liquid form in 118 ml, 335 ml, and 670 ml packages.
Application Properties:
• On vertical surfaces, as the direction of flow is downward, it produces similar tonal variations and crackle structures at different application thicknesses. On horizontal forms, the accumulation of glaze on the surface may intensify the tonal variations and crackle patterns.
• It exhibits a transparent finish on the applied surface.
• Due to its glaze characteristics, it produces a pronounced crackle effect.
• It has a highly fluid glaze structure. As the application thickness and firing temperature increase, its tendency to flow also increases.
• It is not acid-resistant and contains toxic substances. It is not suitable for food contact.
Note: After firing, you can make the crackle lines more pronounced by applying ink to the surface and wiping it off, allowing the ink to settle into the cracks.
Application Methods:
• Suitable for brush application; the recommended application thickness is 1 to 3 coats.
• For spray or dipping applications, approximately 5–30% water is recommended to adjust the viscosity.
• The recommended specific gravity range is 45–55 on the Baumé scale.
Testing Recommendation:
• We recommend that customers using our glazes for the first time prepare test tiles to observe the results under their own kiln firing schedules and application methods. Preparing test tiles on both vertical and horizontal surfaces according to your application method will be beneficial for understanding the glaze.
• The product shown in the image was applied to CMR 250 white casting clay.
• When combining our artistic glazes with another artistic glaze or other glaze groups, we recommend testing beforehand to avoid potential issues.
Care and Cleaning:
• When the product is washed in a dishwasher, the glaze surface may be exposed to high-temperature chemical solutions, which may result in matting or variations in its artistic effects.
Safety:
• The use of personal protective equipment is recommended during application.
• As glazes interact with heat, it is recommended to keep them away from sources of fire and open flames during application.
• Children are advised to use the product under supervision.
Storage:
• Store the products in an airtight environment, away from direct sunlight.
• Products may begin to dry if stored for a very long time. In this case, add a small amount of water, mix thoroughly, strain, and use.
• After opening the package, the substances contained in the glazes that facilitate application, stabilize the formulation, and prevent bacterial growth may gradually lose their effectiveness over time. This generally does not affect the glaze’s firing results, but it may affect application performance; application may become more difficult or cracks may form on the surface before firing. If you encounter such a situation, please contact us for recommended solutions.
