SP 1517 – Finike
Recommended Firing Range
1200–1250°C
Packaging
Available as a liquid glaze in 175 g, 500 g, and 1000 g containers.
Product Features
- An artistic glaze that produces a vibrant orange surface with white speckling.
- In thin applications, the granular particles adhere less to the surface, resulting in a more dispersed and subtle speckle distribution.
- As application thickness increases, particle concentration increases, and white speckling becomes more dominant and pronounced across the surface.
- At 1200°C, the glaze has a satin matte finish. At 1250°C, it develops a glossy surface.
- Opacity changes with temperature: opaque at 1200°C, becoming semi-opaque at 1250°C.
- No running within the recommended firing range.
- Acid resistant and free from toxic substances.
Application Methods
- Suitable for brush application, with a recommended thickness of 1–3 coats.
- For spraying or dipping, dilute with approximately 5–30% water to adjust consistency.
- Recommended specific gravity: 45–55° Bé.
Testing Recommendations
- We recommend first-time users test the glaze under their own kiln schedules and application methods before production use.
- Preparing both vertical and horizontal test tiles will help evaluate glaze behavior and speckle distribution.
- The sample shown was applied over BNC 1200 White Porcelain Clay.
- When combining artistic glazes with other glaze systems, testing is strongly recommended to avoid unexpected results.
Care & Cleaning
- Dishwasher exposure may subject the glaze to high-temperature chemical detergents. Over time, this may alter the matte or artistic surface characteristics.
Safety
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) during application.
- Keep away from open flames and ignition sources during use.
- Children should only apply under adult supervision.
Storage
- Store in a tightly sealed container away from direct sunlight and moisture.
- If the glaze thickens over time, add a small amount of water, mix thoroughly, and strain before use.
- After opening, application additives such as flow modifiers and stabilizers may gradually lose effectiveness. While this generally does not affect firing results, it may reduce application performance or cause pre-firing cracking. In such cases, please contact us for support.

- All ready to use glazes are available in 118 ml, 335 ml and 670 ml jars.
- Our glazes are formulated ready to use in liquid forms.
- It is recommended to apply by brush two to three even coats.
- For other application methods you can add 5 %- 10 % water for diluting.
- Before application, the glaze should be homogeneous.
- We suggest you to test glazes on tiles and later on make final applications.
